Golf Course Directions
On the Costa del Sol there are two roads running along
the whole length of the Coast from Motril (east of Malaga) to Algeciras
(close to Gibraltar) – the old N340, coast road, recently re-named A7 and
the motorway toll road, A7P. Most of the courses can be reached from the
A7, however there are courses where it is quicker to use the new toll road.
Our directions are intended to help you find your way to the course of your
choice.
Notes: Cambio de Sentido is where you have the ability to change
direction, either going under or over the road – most road signs do not sign
individual courses, follow signs for Campo de Golf.
ALCAIDESA Km 125 Can be
accessed from either toll road, or coast road take signs for Algeciras/Cadiz
exit at km.125, the golf course is approximately 3kms from the main road,
towards the sea.
ALHAURIN – This course is
in the mountains behind Fuengirola, it can be reached, from Fuengirola, using
the signs for Coin turn off at the AQUAPARK, or from the A7 at Cala de Mijas -
in the centre of the village take the inland road towards La Cala Golf and
Santana Golf, after passing Santana at the T.junction turn left continue on
this road into the mountains (this is the Coin Road from Fuengirola) turn
right at the top of the hill next to Petrol station, Alhaurin Golf course is
just a few minutes from here on the right.
ALMENARA – Km 130/131
following signs for Algeciras/Cadiz Almenara the A7 and A7P run into each
other at this part of the coast, so use either road. Take signs for
Valderrama follow signs inland for Almenara Golf. Travelling from Algeciras take exit 130.
ANORETA – Km 258 – East of
Malaga on the A7 approximately thirty minute drive from Malaga – on Malaga
bypass take signs for Granada/Cordoba, continue until you see signs for
/Motril/Rincon de la Victoria/Velez Malaga and exit at km 258. The golf
course is only minutes from this exit.
ATALAYA – Km. 170 – Both
courses old and new are located between San Pedro and Estepona, on the A7 –
coast road. Exit for Benhavis follow the road for a few minutes the golf
course entrance is on the left hand side.
BAVIERA – Another course
East of Malaga – at Malaga bypass take signs for Granada/Cordoba, and then
Motril/Velez Malaga/Rincon de la Victoria. Exit from A7 for Baviera Golf it
is approximately forty minutes from Malaga, between Anoreta Golf and Nerja.
CABOPINO – KM 195 On the
A7 coast road between Fuengirola and Marbella, exit for Puerto Cabopino –
take the road inland it is approximately five minutes inland from this exit.
DONA JULIA – Km. 148 ,
The best approach from the Malaga direction is on the A7P toll road to
Estepona, exit at km 153 take signs for Estepona and then Algeciras A7 follow
this road to exit 146 for Dona Julia, From direction Algeciras take A7 exit
150 and then continue to exit 146.
EL CHAPPARAL – Km 203,
this course is located between Fuengirola and La Cala de Mijas on the A7
coast road. Accessing from Fuengirola just past the El Faro exit, there is a
slip road, signed Via Servicio, take the slip road this will take you through
the impressive El Chapparal entrance to the course. Accessing from La Cala –
take A7 coast road towards Fuengirola, (passing El Chapparal entrance on
your left), exit for El Faro, go over road, and follow above instructions.
Club house is approx one kilometer from the main road.
EL PARAISO – Km 167 This
course is located between San Pedro and Estepona on the A7 coast road.. From
San Pedro take exit 167 at Benhavis shopping centre, from Estepona, pass the
shopping centre take next cambio de sentido (change of direction) and follow
signs above. The course is approx 1.5 kms from this turning.
ESTEPONA GOLF – KM.150 Best
approached from the A7 - after a roundabout to the west of Estepona continue
with signs for Algeciras and Cadiz, take care the exit is not far at km 150
the turning comes on you quickly so keep your speed down and look out for the
exit. Approaching from Algiceras take km 149. The course is approx 2km from
the coast road..
FINCA CORTESIN – Km 153 –
If you use the A7P exit for Estepona (the course is on the west side of he
town) follow signs Algeciras/Cadiz to the coast road A7 continue to exit 147
– at roundabout take signs for Caseras this will lead you to the golf course..
GUADALHORCE – KM 230 –
(close to Malaga) from Marbella direction take A7 or A7P towards Malaga airport, pass airport exit at km 230, towards Cartama/Campillos. This road takes
you through an industrial area, Exit for Mercamalaga. The course is approx
1km from this exit.
LA CALA – KM 201 this golf
resort is in the mountains behind La Cala de Mijas which is situated between
Fuengirola and Marbella on the A7. Travelling from Fuengirola exit at Km
201 take first right at roundabout and follow the signs to La Cala Resort.
Travelling from Marbella direction, take exit just past the BP Petrol
station, continue into village, turn left at roundabout and straight across
at next roundabout (this takes you under the road). Continue as above,
approximately ten minutes from La Cala de Mijas.
LA CANADA – Km 131/132 The
A7 and A7P will both bring you past the exit for La Canada. Travelling from Estepona take km 132 and follow road to golf course, from Algeciras area pass km 131 to next exit (cambio de sentido ) turn back towards Algeciras and directions as above.
LA DUQUESA – KM 143 – This
course is opposite La Duqesa Port on the A7 coast road. You can clearly see
the course from both directions very easy to find.
LA NORIA – Km 201 at La
Cala de Mijas, from Fuengirola area take exit for village, turn right at
roundabout and left at the first made up road La Noria is there on the
right.Travelling from Marbella use A7 coast road to Cala de Mijas just past
BP petrol station go into centre of village, left at large roundabout,
straight across at next – then directions as above..
LA QUINTA – Best from both
east and west take A7 toll road. Exit for San Pedro and take signs for San
Pedro, at first roundabout take left La Quinta is signed from here. You can
approach this course from Puerto Banus, through Nueva Andalucia, and follow
signs for courses, however, toll road option is simpler.
LA RESERVA – Km 131 – both
roads run together at this point, so use either (toll road will be quicker)
take signs Algeciras/Cadiz Exit km 131 – signed Valderrama, follow signs
inland for La Reserva.
LAURO – Is situated
between the towns of Alhaurin el Grande and Alhaurin de la Torre. There are
two options – Use the A7 towards the airport – exit before airport for COIN follow
road inland for Alhaurin El Grande this will lead you to Lauro Golf (Los
Caracolillos )– Alternatively – If traveling from direction Fuengirola take
the road from Cala de Mijas exit 201 first right and follow signs for
Santana golf, continue past this to a T junction, turn left follow road to
top of hill go straight across at roundabout – continue to first junction,
turn right, follow road Alhaurin El Grande, turn right at bottom of hill,
continue to golf course. Travelling from Marbella – exit into Cala de Mijas
after BP petrol Station and continue as above. (from airport turn approx 15
mins – from Cala de Mijas approx. 30 mins.)
LOS ARQUEROS – The best
route is on the A7 toll road from either direction, exit at San Pedro, turn
inland towards Ronda, Los Arqueros is approximately five minutes from Toll on
your left hand side.
LOS FLAMINGOS - Km 166 –
on the A7 coast road, exit at km 166, follow road inland for approximately
2km..
LOS NARANJOS – This course
is in Nueva Andalucia, take the second exit for Puerto Banus (if travelling
from Marbella) from the A7 coast road, into Nueva Andalucia, the course is
signed. From San Pedro take exit to Puerto Banus, under road into Nueva
Andalucia, and follow sign.
MARBELLA CLUB GOLF RESORT –
KM 170 A7 coast road, take exit for Benhavis, follow road until you see signs
for Monte Mayor and Marbella Golf Resort. Follow road to course.
MIJAS LOS LAGOS AND LOS OLIVOS – These two courses can be accessed in two ways. Via Fuengirola,
take exit at Aquapark on the A.7 signed Coin. Follow signs for Campo de
Golf, approximately 3km from Fuengirola on the right.. Alterntively you
can access via La Cala de Mijas. Coming from Fuengirola, exit for Cala de
Mijas, take first right inland, follow signs for Santana Golf, pass on the
left, at T junction turn right and continue until you see Mijas Golf on your
left hand side. Coming from Marbella, exit for Cala de Mijas, just past BP
petrol station, to into centre of village turn left and continue inland,
directions as above.
MIRAFLORES –Km 199 –
Riviera del Sol. On the A7 coast road. Take exit
on this road for Riviera del Sol. Follow main road, Avda del Golf, to the
very top of the hill (passing bars and OpenCor. ) at the top turn left and
follow signs for Miraflores Golf Course – you will pass the Miraflores Golf Academy on the left, the course is next turning on the right.
MONTE MAYOR – KM 170 -A7
Coast road, exit for Benhavis, follow road towards Benhavis, until you see
the sign for Monte Mayor, turn left here and follow signs until you get to
the golf club – you will pass Marbella Club Golf Resort on the way. This used
to be a difficult road, it is now an easy drive..
PARADOR - A7. Coast road,
towards Malaga take sign for Coin and Parador, follow signs towards the sea
for Campo del Golf.
RIO REAL – KM 185/186 A7
coast road – close to the Costa del Sol Hospital, exit 186 from Malaga
direction or 185 from Marbella – Rio Real is well signed from these exits.
SAN ROQUE – Km. 127 San
Roque is very close to the turning for La Linea/Gibraltar. Take either A7 or
A7P towards Algeciras/Cadiz, (these two roads run together at this end of the
coast. Exit at km 127 and follow signs for San Roque Club.
SANTA CLARA - Km.186/187
A7 coast road exit 187 from Malaga direction or 186 if approaching from Marbella – Santa Clara is almost next door to Costa del Sol Hospital, course is easily
seen from the road.
SANTA MARIA – Km.191/192
A7 coast road accessing from Marbella exit km 191, Elviria. From Malaga exit 192 Elviria, follow signs for Santa Maria approx 1km from exit.
SANTANA – Two
alternatives from Fuengirola at AQUAPARK, take exit for Coin – follow road
past Mijas Golf and Tamisa Hotel, continue to sign for Entrerrios – 500m turn
in right for Santana. From La Cala de Mijas – A7 coast road from direction
Fuengirola take exit 201 for Cala de Mijas, first exit inland, follow signs
for Santana Golf. From direction Marbella exit km 200 for Cala de Mijas.
Just past BP petrol station, go into centre of village, turn left at
roundabout and straight across at second roundabout follow road inland and
directions as above.
SOTOGRANDE – Km 131 – A7
coast road, take signs to Algeciras/Cadiz exit 131 for Sotogrande and follow
signs for golf course.
TORREQUEBRADA – Two
alternatives the course is between Fuengirola and Benalmadena. A7 coast road
– at the Torrequebrada Casino Hotel, take exit and follow signs for Campo de
Golf, or take A7 motorways towards the airport take sign for Arroya de la
Miel – down hill until you get to boat roundabout – run right and second left
at petrol station, follow this road past hospital Xanit, until you see signs
for Torrequebrada golf you’re your right hand side.
VALDERRAMA – Use either
A7P or A7 (they run together at this end of the coast) taking the road
towards Algeciras/Cadiz, exit at Km 131 signed Valderrama, follow signs to
the superb golf course.
Check in with Caddymaster
at least 30 minutes before your reserved tee time. Also remember that the
roads get very busy between 8.00 and 10.00 and again around 1.30 to 2.00pm
when it is advisable to take a little more time. |
